DH60 Gipsy Moth

First flown in March 1925, the DH 60 Moth series are amongst the most famous of British pre-war light planes. The Gipsy Moth war built at plants in the UK, France, USA, Australia, Canada and Norway, and widely used in military service, including the RNZAF. The firs active operation flown by a New Zealand Military aircraft was a DH 60 over Samoa in 1929 following the Mau uprising in 1928. Several records were set by Gipsy Moths for altitude (21000 ft) and distance.
