also called Rise and Shine Road.
From the site of the Bendigo mining town, the Rise and Shine Road goes up and over the Dunstan Mountains through Thomsons Saddle. On the west side the landscape is tussock and grass and the view is of the upper Clutha River and Lake Hawea; the east side is barren and rocky, with a view over Omakau to the Raggedy Range and the North Rough Ridge beyond.
